Question and Answers

Replacing Ground drive belt

Thank you for your question.   I am sorry you are having a problem with the tractor. Once the deck is removed, set the parking brake and remove the belt from the idler pulleys. I find it is easier to remove the belt from the transaxle first. Just walk the belt off the transaxle pulley and fan.  Once it is removed from the transaxle, you have more slack to get it around the engine pulley and belt guide. You may find it easier to just remove the engine pulley belt guide. When you reinstall the belt, put the belt around the engine pulley first. Then around the transaxle and idler pulleys. The image below shows how the belt should be routed.
