not getting fuel to spark plug 917271532

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your fuel is not getting to the spark plug. I did look into the model number you have provided and I have found information to assist you. Based on the symptoms provided it sounds like your carburetor is not getting fuel. I recommend cleaning out the carburetor fully and seeing if that works. If not then I would recommend to check the sticking needle or the carburetor fuel jet.
If that does not work a rebuild of the carburetor may be the next option.

unable to access reverse gear 917271532 Craftsman Lawn tractor

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help you. Upon researching model 917271532 I show it has a Dana transaxle. It could be the input shaft in the axle is not engaging in reverse. Check under the unit when engaging in reverse to see if it is engaging underneath just that the axle is not engaging.

Carburetor Problem Craftsman Lawn tractor

Thanks for the inquiry and for using
Based upon tractor model 917.271532, I see the engine being used is a Briggs & Stratton with a model of 287707-1259-E1. Based upon the engine model, I see this engine has a couple of different options for carburetors and parts.
I do see a couple of springs associated with the carburetor, there is a governor link spring as well as a choke spring. There are two options for the spring, depending on whether you have a manual or automatic choke.
The carburetor itself may also be due for a cleaning or rebuild at this point. If you do decide to rebuild it (choke spring is included in the rebuild kit), you will need to pull the carburetor and look to see which brand is stamped onto the body of the carb, either Nikki or Walbro, and purchase the applicable rebuild kit.
For convenience, I have provided a blue link below for the carburetor schematic on this Briggs engine. The choke spring is key number 634 or 634 A depending on the choke setup. The governor spring is key number 232. The Walbro rebuild kit is number 121 and Nikki is 121A.
