Question and Answers

Q:

9114658811 how do i install infinite switch

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The infinite switch is fastened to the control panel with two screws. Pull the control knob off the stem of the infinite switch to access the screws. NOTE: Disconnect the power supply by disconnecting the power cord or by flipping the two (2) house circuit breakers dedicated for the range.

The top will hinge open and it will have a built in rod to swing up to keep the top propped open. Remove the access panel from behind the control panel to access the infinite switch and wiring. The infinite switch will have several terminals that will be labeled with letters; L1, L2, H1, H2 and P. The surface element wiring will connect to H1 and H2. The element ON indicator wiring connects to terminal P. The power supply wires will connect the L1 and L2. Remove one wire at time from the old infinite switch and transfer it to the same terminal on the new one and you should not have any problems. Reverse the procedure and check the operation.

Q:

Kenmore oven

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The door is supposed to unlock on its own once the oven has cooled down. It has a motorized door locking assembly and it could be faulty or it could have a faulty electronic oven control. You could try placing the range back into a clean cycle and start it and then after one minute, cancel the clean cycle and then wait to see if the door will unlock. If the door will not unlock, you can access the door lock assembly by raising the top and removing the cover from behind the control panel. You can remove the door lock assembly in order to get the door open. NOTE: Disconnect the power supply from the range before servicing.
