Question and Answers

Q:

911-4288816 "door" code after power failure 9114288816 Kenmore Electric built-in oven

A:

Shut off the house circuit breakers before accessing internal components. You should be able to access that door lock assembly by opening the control panel. Pull the knobs off of the control panel. Remove the screws from the top of the control panel. There may also be other screws that attach the control panel to the frame of the oven. Remove any screws that secure that control panel to the oven frame. You can then open the oven door slightly and place a towel across the top of the oven door. Lift the control panel up slightly to release it and then fold it down and rest it on top of the oven door that is slightly open. You should be able to see the oven door lock assembly. You may need to disconnect wires and remove the control panel. Take a digital picture of the wires to document their location before removing them. The door lock assembly should be attached with several screws. You can remove and replace that part if it is damaged and not working.

Q:

replacing broiler element in electric double built-in oven

A:

First, Disconnect or turn off the voltage supply to the oven before removing the broil element. Basically you are correct. Remove the oven racks and then remove the screws securing the broil element to the roof and rear wall. Slide the broil out slowly and then remove the wires. Note: Do not allow the wires to recoil back into the opening of the rear wall or you may not be able to fish the wires back through without having to remove the oven from its installation. The old broil element part number changes to part #WB44M5.
