Question and Answers

Q:

I ordered part WB03K5073 and received WB3K51. This knob doesn't fit the spindle. What do I do now?

A:

According to our information part number WB3K51 supersedes WB03K5073. If the knob doesn't fit the burner valve shaft look closely at the shaft. Remove a knob from another burner valve and compare the shafts. If they are not the same you might need a new burner valve.

Try the new knob on a different burner valve. If the knob won't fit either burner shaft reorder and see if a knob was packaged wrong.

Q:

My Kenmore stove model #9113672992 has started beeping and displaying f2, how do I fix this?

A:

Here is a direct link for the manual on your range: Owner's Manual . If you have trouble opening that link, let me know.

The F2 code indicates that the control is sensing a high temperature in the oven. Since this is happening when the oven is off, it is possible that you have a bad oven temperature sensor probe (part WB21X5301). You can check that sensor using a volt/ohm meter as shown in this video: Oven Sensor Testing . The image below shows to to remove the sensor in your oven for testing. Be sure that you shut off the house circuit breaker for the range before accessing internal components. That sensor should measure around 1100 ohms. If the sensor measures over 1500 ohms at room temperature, it will need to be replaced.

You can order that part from the Sears PartsDirect website.

If the sensor is okay, you could have a problem with the wiring harness or the clock control board.

I recommend that you have a service technician diagnose and repair the range if you suspect that you have type of failure. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .
