Why will the oven not kick on when the burners and the broiler work okay? Is that possibly the igniter?

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

It could have a faulty bake igniter, electronic oven control/clock assembly, faulty oven safety valve or a faulty relay board. The bake and broil igniters are interchangeable if you want to swap the two and then see if the igniter will glow. If the bake igniter does not glow after swapping the two, then it could have a faulty electronic oven control, relay board, oven safety valve or a loose or burnt wire connection in the bake circuit.

I highly recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your range.

Thermostat for Kenmore oven

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The part number you provided is not a thermostat. It is the oven temperature sensor probe. The temperature sensor probe connects to the electronic oven control. The temperature sensor changes its resistance by temperature which the control board will either open the relay to break the circuit to the heating element or close the relay to bring on the bake element.

The oven temperature sensor is no longer available through Sears Parts but I believe you may be able to order one from this website . The electronic oven control is available to order from SearsPartsDirect .
