Question and Answers

Q:

can I CHANGE THEglow ignitor on my own for wall oven 91130169792 modei #

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The bake igniter can be accessed and replaced by removing the oven floor and the flame spreader. NOTE: Disconnect the power supply from the oven by locating the house circuit breaker dedicated for the wall oven and flip it off before removing the oven floor. I added an image below showing how to remove the oven floor. The bake igniter #WB02X9154 can be ordered from Sears Parts Direct.

The bake igniter is fastened with one or possible two screws. Remove the screws and disconnect the quick disconnect harness plug. Reverse the procedure to install the new bake igniter. Be very careful in handling the new igniter. It is very fragile and can break easily. Do not touch any of the dark part of the igniter, the oil from your skin can cause the igniter to prematurely fail.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Mark: Look for a panel to remove along the behind and below the burner. The image shows a metal panel/shield covering the gas valve. You could also just cut the two wires connecting the old igniter and use the ceramic wire nuts that should come with the new igniter to re-connect the two wires to the new igniter.
