Question and Answers

Q:

Compressor pressure

A:

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to have the compressor reach its target pressure and shut off.

It could be one of two things since you said there are not air leaks.

The reed plate with reed valves in the head of the compressor sounds like they are not closing tightly enough with the compression stroke and are leaking.

The other possibility is the ring on the piston is having some leak by and will not get the compressor up to its target pressure of 150PSI.

In either case you will need to remove the compressor head and check the valves and the o-ring seals and the piston ring which is made of Teflon type material.

If you decide to do an internal repair you will need to order the gaskets and seals to complete the repair besides the other parts you may need.

If you need more help, please reply and I will be happy to help you further.
