Q:

Error 75, P5

A:

The fault codes for this type of range (model 790.78909000) are shown in the first image below. I do not see an error 75 or a P5 listed. I also do not see the 02 error code. Unplug the range to disconnect electrical power. Leave it unplugged for 5 minutes. This may reset the control board. After you plug the range back in, see if you can set the clock. If you can set the clock and the control works properly, then you can continue to use the range. The control may have experienced a power surge or glitch through the electrical lines that scrambled the control board.

If you reset the control board using the procedure described above and the control still won't work, look for one the error codes shown in the image below. This may help you determine the cause of your problem.

If you still don't see one of the error codes on the list shown below, I recommend that you have a service technician examine the washer. You may need to have the electronic control board replaced. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

attn: Dale Webb - My old Sears Roebuck belt sander model 1030383 needs sanding belts.

A:

The model number you sent brings up a message, No parts available for this model.

You might measure a belt or what the dimensions a belt would need to be, and search on the internet. You might find someone with the size you need.

I think it is time to clean the sander up and put it in a place of honor in your shop. Let it rest.

Q:

I have a Kenmore Automatic Demand 75 water softener mod. # 625.348751.

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the softener. If the rotor is stuck, I recommend replacing the motor, rotor, and the seal kit. This should get the valve body working again. Do to the age of the unit I suspect the resin in the tank is depleted. I also recommend replacing the resin at the same time. I looked up the parts to repair the softener and you are looking at $302.00 before tax and shipping. Due to the cost of the parts and the age of the unit, you might want to look into a new softener. The new softeners still have a fiberglass tank inside. At this time, we do not offer a softener that uses anything other than salt. If you want one to use something other than salt, you have to shop around for that. I do not know much about other softeners but I heard they do not soften as well as those that use salt. Thank you for using Manage my life. Mark
