Question and Answers

Q:

8.5 hp Tecumseh starts then slows and dies 247.775880 Craftsman Craftsman engine

A:

Hello Joe. I am sorry to hear about this problem that you are having with your engine.

The spark plug can get a thin coat of carbon. If the carbon is thick, then you likely are running too rich on fuel. This could be caused by a sticking choke or an air intake problem. You may also need to adjust the carburetor.

Q:

Can I store my snow blower model 247.881900 in a garage where I have a Modine space heater 25' away and 8.5' off the floor?

A:

I am not familiar with a Modine space heater. If it has an open flame or pilot light it is not safe to store the snow thrower in the garage.

Gas fumes are lighter than air and will ignite from the heater if they accumulate.

Q:

how do I remove the tire from a Simplicity 4212 Riding Moder it is a 18 x 8.5 8 tire?

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem removing the rear wheel. I have found a video that shows how to repair a puncture in the wheel. The video also shows how to remove the wheels. Click here to watch the video.

If you have followed the steps in the video and the wheel will not come off I suspect the wheel rusted to the axel. When this happens, spray WD-40 or other penetrating product into the hole where the axle key is. Then let it sit for 30 minutes. Now try to wiggle the wheel back and forth while pulling out on it. If it will not come off you can try to tap the wheel off with a block of wood and a hammer. be careful doing this because you could drive the axle out of the transmission. If this happens, it is costly to repair. Another option is to use a puller or heat the rim.

My recommendation is to call for service if soaking it with WD-40 does not help. You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance on the tractor.

Thank you for using Manage my life.
