Question and Answers

Q:

My stove #36271061690 oven temperature is not consistent. It can be a 50 degree range in temp. There is 1/8" slop in the stem to the control body.

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom the oven thermostat will need to be replaced. The stem can not be tightened. Based on the price of the oven thermostat ($177.29) I suggest replacing the range rather than replacing the thermostat.

If you plan on replacing the oven thermostat, I added an image below with the procedure.

The thermostat #WB20K2 for model 362.71061690 Kenmore range can be ordered from Sears Parts Direct.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

Which wires can be removed to disable the dual burner switch on a radiant smooth top range?

A:

You did not submit the model number of your range. If the following instructions do not prevent the burner from heating resubmit your question with the model number. According to the image you sent and the part# on the original switch the part number does substitute over to the WB24T10063 switch.

Disconnecting the Black L1 wire from the switch should break one line of voltage to the burner to keep it from coming on. NOTE: Disconnect power to the range before disconnecting L1 wire from the burner switch. Wrap the L1 wire terminal spade on the wire with electrical tape to prevent the L1 voltage supply from shorting to ground after removing the wire.

Q:

Why is my refrigerator staying at 50 degrees?

A:

It could be an ice blockage in the air circulation or something blocking an air exchange. Without a model or brand I am unable to give you any specific help. Make sure all vents are clear and unobstructed.

If you require further assistance please resubmit question with a complete model number and more details. I will be looking forward to helping you again in the near future.
