Question and Answers

Q:

I have a Proform ellyptical #831285430, and it will not shut off with the power button. Reset button doesn't change anything and the fan always stays on.

A:

Thank you for your question on the Elliptical.

If you cannot turn the fan off with the fan switch then the console has a problem and will need to be replaced.

If you stop using the machine it should goes to sleep, and when you start to pedal the console will power up.

From your description of the problem I think it is highly likely that the console is the problem.

I looked up the console and I am sorry to tell you that it is no longer available to purchase.

The only way to use this unit then is to do what you have been doing and unplug the unit between uses.

Q:

No Response From Tension Motor?

A:

Dale,

If the tension does not change when you adjust it I suspect the tension device is binding and not letting it move away from the wheel or the return spring is missing. To determine where the problem is you need to remove the covers to see the tension mechanism. Once have access to it move the tension from min to max and back. You should see the mechanism move close to the wheel and away from it. If it does not do this check the cable first. If the cable is fine, consult the parts list to see if this unit has a return spring.

I hope this is helpful. If you need further assistance, please reply below with more details. Thank you for using Manage my life. Mark.
