Question and Answers

How can I lighten the resistance on my elliptical it is on hard and I can not switch it?

I am assuming you are able to turn the resistance knob, but it doesn't increase and decrease the resistance of the eliptical.

The cable that connects to the resistance knob goes to the flywheel inside the eliptical and adjusts some magnets inside the flywheel. As these magnets are moved closer to the inside edge of the flywheel, the resistance is increased. I suspect the resistance cable is disconnected from the magnets inside the flywheel.

To test or repair the problem, you will need to remove the right side of the eliptical. You need to disconnect the pedal spring to remove the right side cover. With the right side cover removed, you can check the connection to the magnet cable and repair if it is loose.
