Question and Answers

Q:

Thanks, for your answer. How about 79641029900, after Auto Soak, does the water drain out, and then fill in the new water, and then go to the main cycle?

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I received an answer to your question. After the soak cycle as completed; the washer will begin the wash cycle without draining and refilling with fresh water.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

What kind of Rinse Cycle does the Kenmore washer have? Fill in with water and then Rinse or just Spray the water rinse? Thanks

A:

The washer should fill with the same amount of water in the rinse portion of the cycle that is used in the wash portion of the cycle. It will also spray. If the washer is not filling properly in the rinse cycle, then the control board may need to be re-programmed or replaced by a technician. There is a known issue with the software in the control board of this model of washer that results in an improper water fill in that rinse cycle. If this describes your situation, then you can schedule service online through this link: Sears Home Services . You will have to agree to pay a service charge for that service but if the failure is caused by that software problem described above, then you will not be actually charged for that service call.

If the washer is filling properly in the rinse cycle and you are having a different problem, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

Q:

kenmore Elite washer model# 79641029900

A:

The burning smell could be caused by a wire that is shorting to the metal cabinet or to another wire. If the burning odor smells like wire insulation, then I recommend that you have a service technician examine the washer. You can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .

The sulfur smell could be caused by mold or detergent residue in the washer drum. You can run the Clean Washer cycle with bleach to help eliminate odors in the washer.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.
