Question and Answers

Q:

How do you remove the back freezer panel to replace the ice fan on a Kenmore Elite Bottom Freezer Refrigerator, Model #79577573600?

A:

You need to remove the fan motor from inside the freezer. The cover should come off the evaporator after the screws are removed. The cover is probably catching on some tubing on the evaporator coil. Try moving the cover left and right and up and down while pulling out with slight pressure.

Don't force the cover off as you might break one of the refrigerant lines in the evaporator.

If you can't get the cover off call 1-800-469-4663 or go to www.searshomeservices.com and schedule service for a Sears technician to do the repair for you.
