Question and Answers

Q:

Water overflows the icetrays 79551022010 Kenmore Refrigerator

A:

There are 2 DIP switches on the main PCB board that controls the water fill. To minimize the water flow (9 second fill) you will need to turn both DIP switches off.

Before you adjust the DIP switches, I recommend that you conduct a test cycle on the ice maker to make sure that it is overfilling due to a long fill time. The max fill time is 11 seconds. There is a test button on the bottom of the ice maker that needs to be held in to conduct the test cycle. Do not conduct the test until the cubes in the ice mold are frozen. Cycle the ice maker and see if the water overflows. Time the fill to make sure that it does not last more than 11 seconds. If a 9 second fill will work, then you can unplug the refrigerator and access the main PCB control board. Adjust the DIP switches and then test the ice maker again (after the cubes in the mold are frozen).

This may help you fix that problem in the icemaker. If you need more assistance, let us know.
