Question and Answers

Q:

The lower oven does not work after self cycle Kenmore 79097503002. 79097503002 Kenmore Elite Electric range

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom and details, the thermal switch located at the back of the range behind the panel has likely tripped open breaking the line two (L2) voltage supply to bake and broil elements.

You will need to slide the range out and disconnect the power cord from the power source. Remove the panel from behind the oven and locate the thermal switch. The thermal switch will be mounted to the back of the oven. The thermal switch will have a brown wire with a white stripe and blue wire with a white stripe connected to it. The thermal switch will have a red reset button to push which will reset the thermal switch.  After resetting the thermal switch, the oven will likely heat again.

Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

Replace Liner in Kenmoore Range

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If the upper oven floor does not have two screws located near the back to remove, you will likely need a service technician. If it has two screws, remove the two screws and lift the back of the panel up and slide it back to disengage it from the front frame and remove. If it does not have screws to remove, try push downward at the front while lifting the rear and see if can be removed. If it does come loose, I strongly suggest calling a service technician to remove and replace the oven bottom.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
