Why does the broiler element that I replaced in my Kenmore range model 79096422406 work when cleaning the oven but not in the broil mode?
A:
This symptom indicates a failure of the electronic oven control board (part 316452307). Since the broiler element heats in the clean mode but not in the broil mode, the other components are apparently okay. Replacing the control board will likely fix your problem. NOTE: If you replace this part yourself, be sure that you unplug the range to disconnect electrical power before accessing this internal component.
