Question and Answers

oven turning off

The clock control board in the console controls the oven temperature based on the input from the temperature sensor. Your details seem to indicate that the clock control board may be loosing electrical power so that it shuts the oven off completely. We may need more details about what is actually occurring when the oven turns off. If the digital display for the clock control blanks out and then you have to reset that clock, I recommend that you unplug the range and check the wiring connections on that back of that control board. Here is a link for a repair video that shows how access the clock control board: Range Clock Control Replacement . You don't have to remove the control to check the wiring, just remove that back panel (with the range unplugged ). Check the wiring connections on that back of that control board. The wiring diagram for that range is shown in the image below. That diagram may help you check those wires. If the wires are connected properly, then you may need to replace that clock control board. You can order that part from the Sears PartsDirect website. Be sure that you unplug the range before accessing and replacing parts. NOTE: Before replacing that part, I recommend that you reply with more details about this failure. You could have other problems that would prevent the oven from heating properly.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
