Question and Answers

Kenmore electric range f10

As noted in the link for a previous answer provided by Celene, the F10 indicates that you could have a bad temperature sensor probe or a bad electronic control board in the range. I recommend that you unplug the range and check the resistance of the oven temperature sensor probe. If you see mounting screws on the inside of the oven cavity, you can access the sensor probe using the procedure shown in the first image below. If there are no mounting screws on the inside of the oven cavity, then you can access the sensor probe from the back of the range. Pull the range forward and remove the lower back panel. The sensor probe should have violet wires going to it. Unplug the sensor probe and measure the resistance through this component using a volt/ohm meter. You should measure about 1100 ohms of resistance through this sensor probe. If the resistance is over 2000 ohms, it will need to be replaced. You can order a new probe from the Sears PartsDirect website. The part number is 316217001. Here is a direct link for that part: Probe .

If the sensor probe is okay, you will need to replace the electronic oven control board (part 316452310). Here is a link for that part: [Clock timer |]. Unplug the range and remove the upper back panel to access and replace this control board. Make a note of the wire connections before removing wires (take a digital picture if necessary). Remove the wires and mount the new control in the console. You will need to transfer the overlay to the new control. Attach the wires properly to the new control board. Reassemble and test the range.
