Question and Answers

please help me diagnose why my oven won't turn off. got F1 error code. 79095309100 Kenmore Electric range

Your symptoms indicate that you probably have a bad electronic oven control board in the console. A relay on that circuit board is likely stuck in a "closed" position and is causing the bake or broil element to heat constantly. With the range still unplugged , I recommend that you examine the bake and broil element for visible damage. If you see no problems with those elements, then you can probably fix this problem yourself by replacing that electronic oven control board (part 316207522). If you replace that control board, you will normally need to order and replacing the overlay as well (part 316220818 for the black color overlay). You can order those parts from this page: Kenmore Electric Range Model 790.95309100 Parts . Be sure that you unplug the range or leave it unplugged when accessing internal components and replacing parts. You can access that electronic oven control board by pulling the range out of the cabinet and removing the back panel behind that console. Note the location of wires that are connected to the original control board before removing them. Remove the wires from the existing control board. Remove the screws that mount the control board in the console and install the new one. Properly connect the wires on the new control board. Reassemble the range.
