Question and Answers

I used the self cleaning on my Kenmore stove and a fire started, I turned off the cleaning. What can I do to clean it.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If there was a lot of spillage in the bottom of the oven, it would not be abnormal for the spillage to ignite and flame up but it would have been contained and likely would have gone out within a few seconds. The self cleaning cycle literally burns the spillage to a powder. Once the oven has cooled and the door unlocks, clean the residue with a damp rag.

Remove any excessive spillovers before starting a self cleaning cycle. You can use hot, soapy water and a cloth. I added a link to Use and Care Guide for further cleaning instructions. I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
