Question and Answers

Model 970.94462700 Range error codes

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

To begin with, I will assume the model number begins with 790 and not 970.

The "F10" fault code indicates a runaway oven. This means it's getting too hot. This fault could be caused by a faulty oven temperature sensor probe or a faulty electronic oven control board.

The oven temperature sensor can likely be removed and disconnected from inside the oven cavity and then tested for proper Ohm resistance using an Ohm meter. At room temperature, the oven temperature sensor probe should measure approximately 1100 Ohms. If it does, the temperature sensor is Okay and the electronic oven control/clock assembly is faulty and will need to be replaced.

Disconnect the power supply from the range by disconnecting the power cord or by locating the two (2) house circuit breakers dedicated for the range and flip both circuit breakers off. If the oven continues to heat and overheat after turning the power back on without starting a bake or broil cycle, the electronic oven control will need to be replaced.
