Q:

how do you install harness?A 79092209014 Kenmore Electric range

A:

I am not sure which wires that you are describing. I emailed a wiring diagram to you. That should help you reconnect the wires.

Unplug the range before accessing internal components.

If you need more help, let us know.

Q:

how to repair or replace one broken burner on year old glass-top stove Kenmore #79092209014?

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The smooth glass top will need to be replaced if it's cracked. The glass top #316282915 for model 790.92209014 can be ordered from Sears Parts Direct.

I added an image below with the basic procedure. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

Lower bake element not working 79092209014 Kenmore Electric range

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Before assuming the bake element is bad, it could have a faulty electronic oven control/clock assembly. The bake element requires 220 volts in order to heat. A technician would check the voltage supply at the bake element before assuming the bake element is faulty. If 220 volts is not measured across the two leads connected to the bake element when the oven is programmed for bake, then I would suspect a faulty electronic oven control/clock assembly. NOTE: I do not recommend making any voltage measurements unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so; otherwise I strongly suggest calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your range.

If the oven bottom inside the oven cavity is removable, the hidden bake element can be disconnected and removed from inside the oven cavity. Look for a couple of screws at the back of the oven bottom. Remove the two screws if it has them and remove the oven floor. If the oven bottom does not have screws, then the hidden bake element is removed from the rear of the oven.

If the oven bottom is not removable, then I suspect the hidden bake element will have to be removed from the back of the oven. Disconnect the range from the power source before servicing.

After removing the panel from behind the oven, you should see the two wires connected to the bake element. You may have to remove a short and long piece of metal before you can slide the element out.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services.
