Question and Answers

Q:

Plugged in Kenmore gas range into 220v instead of 110v. Oven has stopped working. Can you tell me which part to replace?

A:

You probably damaged that clock control board in the console when you plugged the range into a 220 volt outlet. Replacing that component will probably fix your problem with the oven not heating. The part number for the clock control board is 316418503. You can order that part from the Sears PartsDirect website.

Be sure that you unplug the range before accessing internal components and replacing that clock control. Here is a short video that shows how to replace that component: Video: Range Clock Control Replacement .

There is a possibility that other components were damaged when you plugged the range into a 220 volt power supply. If you still have problems after replacing that control board, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
