Question and Answers

Issue with my gas oven, wondering if there is a part missing? Flame is to hot, top of meal burns but the inside doesn't cook through. Doesn't matter what temp.

You could have a problem with the oven temperature sensor probe or the clock control board. You can unplug the range and check the resistance of that oven temperature sensor. Here is a link for a video that shows how to test that component: Oven Sensor Testing . You can access disconnect plug on that sensor from the back of the range. That sensor should measure around 1100 ohms. If it is bad, it will need to be replaced. You can order that component from the Sears PartsDirect website. The part number for that sensor is 316134900. Here is a direct link for that part: Sensor . Here is a video that may help you replace that sensor: Oven Sensor Replacement . Some models of that range have mounting screws on the inside of the oven cavity that secure that temperature probe. Use the procedure shown in the image below if you see screws inside the oven cavity that mount that temperature probe in place.

If that sensor probe is okay, then you may need to replace the clock control board in the console.
