Kenmore Range ignitors will not shut off.

I can understand your concern is the ignitors do not shut off. While you wait for the expert to review your model and respond, you can check a similar question with expert answer if you like. I atatched the link below. I also added the scheduler to Sears Home Services if you would prefer to have an experienced technician diagnose and make repairs. I hope this is a problem that you can stop worrying about soon.

Thank you for your question on the range igniters sparking all the time.

There are a couple of reasons why this can happen.

1. If you had a boil over on the range and moisture got into the switch it can cause this problem and if you let it dry out it will stop. 2. This can also happen if in cleaning the range you get some moisture into the switch, this can also be the cause. 3. One of the switches can not break contact and one of the switches is on all the igniters will spark at the same time. If this is the case the igniter harness for all the burner valves will have to be replaced as it comes as one assembly.

The next most likely cause would be the spark module. However while this is a possibility it is not a high failure part.

Since you would have to remove the front panel of the range where the gas valves are to replace the switch igniters you may want to have a technician check out the range.

If you feel comfortable with removing the front panel then we can proceed with how to remove the front panel.

If it has been a couple of days since this started sparking and it is still doing it I would suggest you start with the switch harness repair.

The part number for the switch harness is: 316219006 for about $68.00.

Switch harness .

Please let me know if you would like to try to repair this yourself and we can continue with the repair instructions.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
