Question and Answers

My kenmore gas range makes clicking noises even though the burners are in the off position. Model #790.7745.

I can appreciate your confusion over hearing this click noise from your range. It may be that you're hearing a relay opening and closing on the electronic oven control board. I did locate a link that will discuss your situation in greater detail. Though this link discusses a different model number, the mechanics are likely going to be very similar. Keep in mind that an expert will be responding within the next two business days if not sooner and will likely offer you more information and instruction. I hope this link will help guide you as to what might be wrong with your range and have a nice day.

Thank you for choosing I understand how important it is to find out what's making the noise in your gas range. The model number you have provided is incomplete. After the numbers 790, there should be 8 digits to follow. However, based on the symptoms you've provided, it sounds like you have a shorted spark switch. If you have spilled liquid of any kind on the range, the switch will eventually dry and stop sparking on its own. If the clicking sounds persist, the switch may have failed completely and you may have to replace it.
I have included a link to our PartsDirect page where you can purchase the part you need to complete your repair. Just click the blue link below to be taken to the page.
