Question and Answers

Q:

need instructions how to take glass top off to replace right front burner valve

A:

Hello William, The top will come off as an assembly with the side trim. I was not able to locate the service manual for this 40 inch dual fuel range with a glass top with the burner valves mounted to the top. Looking at the image of the range, you will need to remove every one of the, burner caps, burner bases and the drip pans. Remove every screw from around each of the drip pans and from the burner bases. Remove all the burner knobs. Open the oven door and look for any screws that appear to be threaded in the front lip of the main top. After removing the screws under the front lip of the top, slide the top towards the front and lift it up enough to clear the burner valve stems and you can likely slide the top out and off. You may be able to hinge it open enough to access and replace the burner valve without having to remove the glass top assembly. I added a couple of images below that may be of help. I hope this is helpful. If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician, you can schedule service by calling 1-800-4-MY-HOME.

Q:

Kenmore Dual Fuel Range #79074403995: This range works perfectly with one exception, the control pad visual read out is dim, getting harder to read. This range

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry that the electronic oven control display on your range has dim.

I am afraid the only way to repair this is to replace the control.

The control is only on a rebuild send and return basis from a vender. I will give you the link so you can deal with the vendor yourself if you decide to replace this oven control.

Core Centric .

  • If you decide to replace the control, you will need to remove the back cover panel to get to the control.

  • First REMOVE POWER from the range and pull out from the wall.

  • Then locate and remove the screws that secure the upper back panel to the range.

  • Once removed locate the 4 screws that secure the electronic oven control to the control panel.

  • With the new control in hand replace the wire harness connector by connector and wire for wire.

  • Install the new board back into the control panel and re-install the panel.

I hope this information will help with your repair.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.
