Question and Answers

Q:

what is the rating watts and circuit amp recommended for double wall oven model 79048183000

A:

The KW rating and normal required breaker/wire size is shown in the image below for that oven. It will usually need a 40 amp breaker and 8 gauge copper wire size. National and local electrical codes also govern the installation of this oven based on the KW rating. This should be the information that you are looking for. If you need more help, let us know.

Q:

Small round disk in upper oven 79048183000 Kenmore Elite Walloven

A:

Your are correct, the round ceramic disc with holes fits up inside the oven vent (key #127). The ceramic piece is called a catalyst which assit in removing smoke that vents through the oven vent. If your not able to re-insert the ceraimic cayalyst into the bottom of the oven vent tube, you will need to remove the vent tube from inside the oven cavity and insert the catylist from the top of the vent tube. The vent tube usually can be taken off by rotating it 1/4 of a turn to dis-engage the slots and then pull it down and and out. Once you have the oven vent tube removed, drop the ceramic catalyst down the top and it should stay in near the bottom of the vent tube. Sometimes you may have to squeaze the bottom of the vent tube inwards just a little before dropping it down so the catalyst will not fall through. Re-insert the oven vent and rotate it 1/4 turn to lock it back in position.

Q:

Foil melted into bottom of built in oven #79048183000: Does part #31862100 & part 318258775 need to be replaced for total repair? If so,

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Neither part you mentioned will be needed. You will need the oven "liner" key #83 which should be removed and installed by a service technician. It will be a major dis-assembly and removal of the oven line in order to replace the oven liner. The removal and installation of the oven liner should be performed by a service technician due to the complexity of the procedure.

You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
