Question and Answers

Q:

self propelled snapper mower walk behind transmission problem

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the mower. It is not very common for the input shaft to break off. I believe you need to order any other parts to complete this repair. It is not difficult to replace the gear case. You have to remove the drive wheels and the drive gear. Then remove the belt covers and disconnect the cable. Once every thing is disconnected from the gear case, you can slide the gear case in one direction to clear the hole then let that side come down then pull the gear case from the mower. There are not any difficult steps to replace the gear case.

I am sorry I cannot give you an estimate on what the labor cost would be for the repair because all markets have a different rate.

I hope this is helpful.

Please let me know if you need further assistance on this issue.

Thank you for using Manage my life.
