Question and Answers

Q:

what is error code F 02 mean

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The "F02" fault code displays when the drain time exceeds 8 minutes. This can happen if the drain pump filter is restricted or if there is too many suds due to the wrong type of detergent being uses or too much detergent being used.

I added an image below showing how to access the drain pump filter. NOTE: Be sure to have all the water removed from the tub before removing the drain pump filter. You will also need to disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the front lower access panel.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

What would cause my dryer to take 2-3 cycles to dry?

A:

First, if your dryer is an electric dryer and not gas remove the vent hose from the rear of the dryer and dry a load. If it dries the clothes in one cycle normally that would indicate a venting issue. Open the door and remove the lint filter and check for a blockage down in the lint filer housing. Inspect the lint filter, take the filter and run water over it to see it the water will pass freely through it. If you use fabric softener it will leave a clear layer over the little holes and restrict the airflow. Take the lint filter and wash it off with water and a brush. Use a vacuum to clean the lint out. Any airflow problem will cause the dryer to take longer to dry. If it's a gas dryer it could have weak gas solenoid coils and it's not always opening the gas valve.

If you’re confident that there are no air flow restrictions I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dryer.

Q:

Craftsman commercial metal turning lathe, model #101.28980, purchased 4-25-73, it is in excellent condition, purchsed in '73 for $899.00. Considering selling,

A:

Thank you for your question.

Trying to figure out what the lathe is worth can be difficult.

* If as you say the lathe is in excellent condition you may be able to get $1200.00 to $1500.00 for it.

  • If you have any tooling pieces that go with it,extra head stocks, and tool cutters you may do even better.

  • It kind of depends on where you live and the type of people and retirees you may have.

  • As an example if you live in Florida with all the retirees, you may be able to get the high end.

  • I you live in a remote or country area you may only get $500.00 for it.

  • You could put it on E-Bay or Craig's list, or at least look at the sites to see what the currant prices are going for.

  • You could also put it up for bid and have a reserve for the bidders to meet which would be your lowest price you would except or also a buy it know price.

You have all kinds of options so don't be in a hurry and you will probably get much more than you paid for it. Metal Lathe's of that era, if in good condition go up in price.

I hope this will help.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.
