Question and Answers

Q:

I need to change the handle on my microwave do you have instructions for that?

A:

Replacing the handle of the door of a microwave is a repair that should only be performed by a service technician. Essential microwave shielding is contained in the door. The door must be removed and disassembled to replace the handle. The door must then be properly reassembled and replaced on the microwave. A microwave radiation shielding test must then be conducted on the unit using proper RF testing equipment. This is why the door handle repair must be completed by a service technician. Q:

seal tape on my kenmore microwave model number 72180413500 seems to be bubbling

A:

A problem like this should be examined and corrected by a service technician. A microwave radiation shielding test will need to be conducted on the microwave door using proper testing equipment. I do not recommend that you attempt to correct this problem yourself. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

The problem that I have with my microwave is that it is not heating. and I need a electrical dirgram of what in the curcuit that might cause this problem

A:

As noted in the link for a previous answer that Alina F. provided in the above response, we normally don't provide repair information for microwaves. They are inherently dangerous to service due to internal high voltage components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. A microwave shielding leakage test must be performed on the unit following any internal component access and repair. These are the reasons why we strongly recommend that the microwave be serviced only by a technician. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

In many situations, replacing the microwave is more economical than repairing it. Here is a Sears.com link for a moderately priced microwave that is similar to your current one: Kenmore Stainless Steel 30 in. Microhood Combination - 8503 .
