Question and Answers

Q:

how do i change the control panel om model 72180043700

A:

Thank you for your question. I am sorry you are having a problem with the microwave. We do not give out much repair information on microwaves be cause of the dangers of repairing them. The microwave generates extremely high voltage. The capacitor can store this voltage even when the unit is unplugged. If the control is not seated correctly, it could interfere with the door closing all of the way. If the door is not completely closed, it could leak radiation. I hope you understand our policy on microwaves. Our number one concern is your safety. It is strongly recommended to have the microwave repaired by a service technician. You can have the microwave repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

We will give repair instructions on any other appliance that a customer can safely complete.

Thank you for using Manage my life.

Q:

I need instructions on how to replace the handle on my microwave hood combination. I received my part today. Model #72180043700.

A:

That handle will need to be installed by a technician. Repairs and adjustments, even minor ones such as replacing a door handle, can cause microwave leakage. A microwave shielding leakage test should be performed after any microwave service. It is for these safety reasons that we are unable to guide you in microwave repairs and instead recommend scheduling service with a qualified service technician. You can schedule service online with Sears Home Services or by calling 1-800-4-MY-HOME. We thank you for your understanding in this matter and hope we can help you with other questions and repairs in the future.
