Question and Answers

Q:

quick touch buttons

A:

Thank you for your question.

No having the quick touch feature may be inconvenient.

With this symptom it could be either the touch key pad of the electronic control for the microwave that is the problem.

I need to inform you that Microwaves are inherently dangerous to service. They contain high voltage internal component that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. A microwave shielding leakage test must be performed on the unit using proper testing equipment following any internal component access or repair before the microwave can safely be returned to service. These are the reasons why I recommend that you have a service technician repair this microwave failure.

I would suggest that you have a qualified service technician check the microwave controller and key pad matrix for the malfunction.

In the long run it may be less expensive to replace the microwave or not the use of this function.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Q:

I have a Kenmore Microware model 72166222500 serial 906TAO3045. Key pad works but microware does not start up.

A:

Your symptoms indicate that you have an internal component failure such as a bad control board or a wiring failure. Several other internal component failures could cause this problem. Microwaves need to be serviced by a technician due to the high voltage internal components inside the cavity that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. A microwave radiation shielding test must be performed on the unit following any repair service. For these reasons, I recommend that you take the microwave into a Sears Repair Center to have it fixed. Here is a link for the Sears Service website that has information on drop-off locations: Sears Home Services .

Q:

microwave model # 72166222500 trips breaker when started any troubleshooting that i could try tried different outlet showed "error"

A:

Thank you for your question on the Microwave tripping the breaker.

If you have tried a different outlet and it still trips the breaker.

I would suggest that you have a technician check out the microwave.

I have to inform you that I am sorry, but we do not give repair information on microwave ovens because they are inherently dangerous to service. Microwaves contain high voltage internal components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. Door repairs and adjustments, even minor ones, can cause microwave leakage, and a microwave shielding leakage test must be preformed using a survey meter after any microwave service. That's why I strongly warn you to have this repair handled only by a qualified service technician. You can schedule service online with Sears Home Services or by calling 1-800-4MY-HOME.

Normally at Manage My Life.com we like to help you with all of your repairs, but our expert advice is that microwaves are just too dangerous.
