Question and Answers

Q:

My kenmore dryer turns on, after a few minutes the flame turns off while it is still running. This happens every couple of minutes? Is this normal?

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

It is not abnormal for the burner to cycle off and on to maintain a normal operating temperature. If your clothes are drying in a normal amount of time then there is nothing likely wrong with your dryer. If your clothes are taking a little longer to dry than normal then I recommend checking and cleaning the venting system. I also recommend removing the lint filter screen and cleaning it under running warm water with a soft bristle brush. If you use fabric softeners; it can leave a clear layer on the screen which will restrict air flow and cause longer dryer times.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

I have Proform 720 treadmill, the console reads error code E2. What does this mean?

A:

Error code E2 means the incline sensor is not sending information to the console. When you disconnect the power cord and reconnect it, the treadmill should raise the incline to the top and go back down. If it doesn't do this, something is wrong with the incline motor or the sensor.

The incline sensor is a small switch mounted beside the incline motor. An optic disc turns through a groove in the incline switch when the incline motor runs.

If you need more information on the treadmill, send another email and include the details of your tests. We will send you the information you need.

Q:

I have a kenmore electric range model number 720 and I was wondering how hot in temperature the stove top can get.

A:

The model number 720 does not give me enough numbers to determine the type of Kenmore electric range that you have. The Kenmore model number will normally have a 3 digit prefix such as 790. . . or 665. . . and then a series of 8 more numbers. I recommend that you check the range for a Kenmore model number in that format. The model number is often on the base of the range in front of the right (or sometimes left) front leveling leg. Open the bottom drawer to view this area. If the range does not have a bottom drawer, open the oven door and look on the side of the opening to the oven cavity for a model number sticker. Reply with that model number and more details if possible. We will try to provide you with the information that you are looking for.

Generally speaking, a stove top can reach temperatures in excess of 100 degrees when the oven is on and the no burners are being used. When burners are on, the outer portions of the cook top can reach temperatures over 140 degrees. If you have a ceramic glass cook top, the glass directly on top of the element can reach 700 degrees or more with the burner on high. This may be the information that you are seeking. If you need more help, reply with that model number as described above and more details.
