Question and Answers

Q:

How are the Kenmore upright vacuum 721.33189030 agitator components for 8-1 through 8-7 assembled?

A:

The parts slide over the agitator bar and shaft in the order they are shown in the parts diagram. There are no locking set screws or snap rings holding anything.

When the agitator bar and bearings are assembled, the fixtures slides over them. When the complete assembly is dropped into the base of the vacuum it holds everything in place.

If the agitator bar is damaged or misshaped from the heat of the bearing the agitator bar will have to be replaced.

My information shows your vacuum is pretty new. It might be covered by the warranty if you take it to a Sears Service Center or a Sears Retail Store for repair. The vacuum has a 1 year warranty including parts and labor.

Q:

Kenmore Elite Dishwasher 665.13183k801 blue light blinks 8-1 times

A:

Hi John,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life. I know how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function properly.

When the blue light flashes 8 times and then after a pause flashes 1 time this indicates an error. The error is as follows 8 = INLET WATER and 1 = Low Water or Air in Pump. This can mean:

  1. No water to dishwasher. Remedy: Verify water supply is turned on and supply line adequate. Correct installation if necessary.
  2. Bowls or pots loaded or flipped upside down and captured wash water. Remedy: Load bowls or dishes so that they are facing down, and can't catch water.
  3. Loose connection to dishwasher fill valve, or in the valve circuit, or in fill valve solenoid. Remedy: Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power. Check resistances of fill valve solenoid and all connections in the Fill Circuit.
  4. Overfill switch stuck in “Overfill” position and/or dishwasher not level. Remedy: Remove any items stuck under float. Verify that the float moves freely and you hear the “click” of the switch contacts. Check/adjust levelness of dishwasher.
  5. Drain loop detached from tub and/or improper drain connection. Remedy: Check for water siphoning out of unit: Allow dishwasher to complete normal fill. Drain for 5-10 seconds by pressing Cancel/Drain. Open door and confirm water does not siphon out of unit. If it does, confirm drain loop is attached to side of dishwasher and drain hose is connected to a drain at least 50.8 cm (20") off the floor.
  6. Inlet screen or fill valve plugged. Remedy: Turn off water supply to dishwasher. Disconnect water line to fill valve and inspect inlet for obstruction.
  7. Dishwasher creating too many suds during washing. Remedy: Allow unit to fill and wash for 1 minute. Open door and check for excessive sudsing. Confirm using proper dishwasher detergent, not hand detergent. Check for excessive rinse aid leakage.
  8. Faulty fill valve drive circuit on the control. Remedy: Check operation of fill valve during Diagnostics.
  9. Water leaking from dishwasher. Remedy: Check for leaks under dishwasher.
  10. Diverter disk in sump is missing. Remedy: Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power. Remove lower spray arm, turbo zone assembly, rear feed tube and outlet covert and verify whether the round diverter disk is installed.

After you have checked the situations listed above run the diagnostics again (see image below).

Please perform the diagnostic tests detailed here and report back with your findings. Be sure to record any failures and when they occur along with any error codes that are displayed. I am looking forward to assisting you again in the near future.

Q:

Relay on tractor 917-276022. #81. I cannot find this relay on my tractor.

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem finding the reply. The relay should be located behind the dash. The relays are usually tucked back in there good. The relay has 4 black wires and one green. If you still cannot find the relay, look at the wires on the on the seat switch. The wires should be green. If they are green, follow the wires back to the relay. If the wires on the seat switch are not green, your model does not have a reply. If this is the case, I recommend checking the seat switch and the connector. If the connector is not pushed no all the way the engine will die when the clutch is released or the pto is engaged.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for using Manage my life.

Mark.
