Question and Answers

Q:

****My Kenmore Ultra Bake Model # 665-95152300 oven & broil elements do not work? Only used the broiler element but twice since I owned the oven. Read details.

A:

Both of the elements will rarely go bad at once. You could have bad heating elements but that scenario is unlikely based on your details. A wiring failure or a failed clock control board in the console could be causing this heating failure. The wiring diagram for your oven is shown in the image below with those oven element circuits traced in wire colors. I recommend that you unplug the range and check those wiring connections. If the wiring connections are okay, then you can check the resistance of the bake and broil elements using a volt/ohm meter as shown in this video . If you do not have a volt/ohm meter, you can buy one at your local Sears or hardware store for less than $20. The bake and broil elements should measure between 10 and 40 ohms of resistance (usually around 16 ohms). If either of the elements are bad, then they will need to be replaced. You can order parts from this page: Kenmore Ultra Bake Range 665.95152300 Parts . Here is a video that shows how to replace the bake element in that type of range. Be sure that you unplug the range before accessing and replacing internal components. The procedure for replacing the broil element is similar.

That wiring diagram indicates that the broil element has a fuse in the circuit. That fuse could be blown and would prevent the broil element from heating. You can check that fuse for continuity in a similar manner that is used to test the bake and broil elements (with the range still unplugged ).

If the bake and broil element circuits and the wiring connections are okay, then you will probably need to replace that clock control board in the console. Here is a video that shows how to replace that clock control board.

I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.
