Question and Answers

Q:

electric range broiler element wont shut off

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

There are two possible reasons that would explain why the broil element won't turn off.

*Shorted to ground broil element

*Stuck contact in the electronic oven control.

Leave the breakers off to the range and then inspect the broil element. Look for any cracks or blistering on the broil element. If it looks normal, it should be removed and disconnected and tested to see if it shorted using an Ohm meter. With one Ohm meter lead, place one meter lead on one terminal and the other meter lead on the element. Then move the meter lead to the other terminal and place the meter on the element itself. If measure continuity, the broil element is shorted.

If the broil element is not shorted to ground, the electronic oven control/clock assembly will need to be replaced. Parts can be ordered at Searspartsdirect.com for Kemore range model 665.95025105

Q:

I have a Kenmore cooktop model 665 95025101. I changed the rf element to part 4453909. How can I get an altered wire diagram?

A:

I don't have a wire diagram to send you but these are the connections from the old element to the new:

the wire that was on 1B goes to H

the wire that was on 2B goes to S

the wire that was on 1A is a jumper that goes to the element. The new element has an internal jumper.

the wire that was on 2A goes to 2.

I am sending you an image of the wiring for the elements on your range.

Hope this helps, if it isn't clear send another question.
