Question and Answers

Q:

Kenmore Microwave Built-in over the range #66561612100 needs fuse #4393308 replaced. I am an experienced electrician, and I have taken off the control panel

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern. If you're an experienced electrician I must assume you know how to safely work around live and stored voltages.

If you can see the fuse by removing the control panel then you should be able to remove the fuse. The fuse fits/snaps into the fuse holder and can be pried out. If you're not able to access and remove the fuse then the microwave will have to be taken down the wrapper removed.

Be sure to disconnect the power cord from the powers source before removing the line fuse. Note: Use Extreme Caution when attempting to remove the line fuse. There is a capacitor not far from the fuse which can hold an extremely large amount of voltage which can cause severe bodily harm and could cause death if you were to get to close to it

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

Why would my Kenmore microwave quit and show -F6- in the display?

A:

The -F6- indicates that the control board has detected a failure in the microwave relay. This could be caused by a wiring problem or a bad control board in the microwave.

A technician will be needed to diagnose and repair this type of failure.

Q:

need to get my microwave to vent out of the top front and not the top(and vent outside the house)

A:

Thank you for your question.

I should be able to help you change the venting on your microwave. I have provided you a link below to the installation manual for the microwave. Once you click on the link then scroll down to page 10. This page has the instructions for changing the vent direction. The baffle needs to be rotated 90 to the front. You can leave the flapper off when you reinstall the damper plate.

I hope this is helpful.
