Question and Answers

Q:

Why does the hose to the faucet from my Kenmore dishwasher model 66517702K600 pop off while filling with water?

A:

Make sure that your faucet adapter is properly installed using the instructions from your owner's manual that are also shown in the image below. Check the coupler for damage.

You indicated that you are getting a lot of soapy water during the drain process. You should not be seeing a large amount of suds if you are using the correct type of dishwasher detergent in the correct quantity. Make sure that your rinse aid cap is firmly closed and that it is not leaking. Excessive rinse aid can cause a sudsing problem. I recommend running the dishwasher for a cycle with no dishes or detergent added to see if it will work properly.

I recommend using a standard powdered dishwasher detergent in the appropriate quantity based on the hardness of your water as directed in your owner's manual (page 12). You should be able to avoid excessive suds by following these directions.

If the coupler will not stay attached normally when you are not seeing a sudsing problem, then it is likely that you will need to replace the coupler. It must be damaged if it will not stay on properly.
