Question and Answers

Q:

Kenmore Elite Dishwasher 66517269402 start button won't turn on.

A:

Hi Amanda,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life. I know how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function properly.

You will need to check the buttons on the console/touchpad with a multimeter. I am including the pinout chart and instructions below along with how to gain access to the control board and touchpad. Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts. This will point you towards the part that needs to be replaced.

If you do not have a meter you can purchase on for around $20.00 at most hardware stores including Sears .

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Thanks again for using Manage My Life.

Q:

i have a66517269402 dishwasher. I have water not draining out and the cancel button does very little. Can I check the drain hose myself? Is there anything else

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern. I must assume you hear the drain motor running when the cancel button is pushed. If you do not hear the drain motor running, it could have a faulty drain pump, jammed drain pump or fault control board.

If the drain pump is running and not just humming, then there is likely a restriction or blockage in the sump area, drain pump or in the drain hose or fitting where the drain hose is connected under the sink. The drain hose can be disconnected and check for a blockage. The drain pump can be tested and removed from under the dishwasher.

I added a couple of images below with information and instructions. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
