Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The thermal cut out (TCO) or bimetal is a temperature sensitive device used for console / control area temperature limit protection. It is intended to open and shut off the dishwasher in the event that the control temperature exceeds the temperature setting of the TCO or bimetal. It is a non-resettable device and must be replaced if it is open.

In the event that the TCO or bimetal has opened, replacing the part without determining the cause will result in the replacement TCO or bimetal subsequently opening as well. The temperature control circuit (heater, control & temperature sensing devices) should be analyzed for proper operation as outlined in the Technical Sheet supplied with the product and corrected. Wire harness connections may be the cause that some of the TCOs & bimetals have opened. Check the terminals on the TCO and the wiring connector for signs of a loose connection such as darkened terminals. In this case the harness or connection must be replaced and installed using proper connection techniques.

When installing the harness connection to the TCO or bimetal, push the wire terminals straight into the TCO or bimetal terminal. Do not use a side to side motion or twisting motion. These motions can spread the terminal connectors with the potential to generate sufficient heat during dishwasher operation to cause the TCO or bimetal to open.

The thermal fuse kit #675813 can be ordered from Sears Parts Direct. Be sure to use the new wire harness that comes with the thermal fuse kit. If use the old original wires on the thermal fuse and they spades are not making a good and tight connection, it can cause resistance which causes heat which will cause the thermal fuse to open.

I added an image below of the wiring diagram which will also provide the Ohms resistance of the electrical components.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
