Question and Answers

Q:

Kenmore Elite Dishwasher 66516593201

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The water inlet valve is fastened to the frame with a screw. You will need to remove the lower access panel, disconnect the dishwasher from the power supply and turn off the water supply. I added an image showing how to remove the lower access panel.

I added a YouTube video showing the procedure of removing and installing the water inlet valve.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

Why does the chopper blade screen keep plugging up?

A:

I recommend scrapping off any bones, large chunks and burned-on foods before placing the dish in the dishwasher. The symptom you described is an unusual failure. I would suspect an improperly routed drain hose or failed check valve in the sump. I assume the chopper blade arms are not bent and are rotating as well as the spring pushing the cutting blades towards the cutting disc. NOTE: The blades of the chopper assembly are not designed to actually scrap the screen. There will be some clearance between the two. It is designed to chop soft foods and not hard foods.

I added some useful information and theory of operation in the images below that should help you diagnose the cause of the symptom.
