Question and Answers

Hi Thuan,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

You do not give many details in your question. Here are some general things that should help you solve this issue.

Make sure there is hot water available to the dishwasher. In most cases the water heater is factory pre-set at 120 degrees. It will help if you run the hot water at the sink faucet until it is hot and then start the dishwasher.

Using fresh dishwasher detergent, which has a history of having a formula that works with your area’s water supply, will help with washability. Different detergents work better in different types of water. If the detergent is kept in a moist or humid environment it will cake and become in active, and will not dissolve well. It should be kept in a cool dry location.(Not under the sink). One way to check the detergent is to open the door in the middle of the wash cycle and observe if there are any soap bubbles in the bottom of the tub. If there is the soap has lost its anti-sudsing agent and will be ineffective.

Rinse agent is a necessity for dishwashers, and the harder your water is the more rinse agent you need to create the sheeting necessary to make the food deposits slide off the dishware. Most diswashers have an adjustable rinse agent dispenser under the filler cap for you to change the amount that is dispensed. You may have to adjust to a higher setting.

Make sure you have enough water in your dishwasher when it is in the main wash cycle. Let the dishwasher get to the main wash when it releases the detergent and slowly open the door to see how much water is in the base of the dishwasher. If it has a low amount of water the wash arms that distribute the water won’t have enough to spray around the inside of the dishwasher.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website; Sears Home Services .

I hope this information helps to resolve this issue for you. If you need further assistance please include more details in a reply to this post.
