Question and Answers

Q:

Dishwasher issues

A:

Your details seem to indicate that the top spray arm is not docking in the manifold on the back wall of that dishwasher tub. If you have a large amount of water spraying out of that docking connection, then this is likely preventing your spray arms from getting proper water pressure. Make sure that the top rack is pushed all of the way in when you start the dishwasher. If that connection still leaks even though the rack is pushed in properly, then you will probably need to replace some parts. You can order parts from the Sears PartsDirect website. The image below shows how to remove that manifold in the back of the dishwasher. Your dishwasher may be slightly different than the one shown below but the basic repair procedure is the same.

You may also need to check the chopper blade area of that sump in your dishwasher. That procedure is also shown in the image below. A clog or obstruction in that area will prevent the spray arms from getting proper water pressure.

I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

This can sometimes be a difficult problem to diagnose. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
