Question and Answers

Dishwasher model 66515972992, leaking from bottom of door.

Hi Frank,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I know how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function properly.

The overfill control typically does not cause this issue. This dishwasher is on a time fill. The correct water level in this dishwasher is within 1/4" to just touching the bottom of the heating element. After the dishwasher stops filling carefully open the door and check the water level. The water level is not designed to be above the heating element. If it is higher than this the fill valve may be sticking open or there could be an issue with the electronic controls.

Make sure that the dishwasher is level (not tilted forward). A leaking problem at the bottom of the door is normally caused by a wave action inside the washer tub. Check the spray arms for cracks or splits. Water will slosh over the front lip of the tub in this situation and leak out of the front of the dishwasher. Make sure that the spray arm is not blocked from spinning when loading dishes.

If you are able to pull out the bottom rack and remove the bottom spray arm assembly, you can check the screws on the top of the pump outlet as shown in the image below. If you find the screws loose, tightening them may fix your leaking problem.

I hope this is helpful. Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Thanks again for using Manage My Life.
