Question and Answers

Q:

Dishwasher model 66515959000, some functions on control board don't work.

A:

Hi Howard,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life. I know how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function properly.

You can check each of the buttons by using the KEYPAD MATRIX I have included in the image below. This image also includes a picture of what the P1 connector looks like. Here is a video that demonstrates gaining access to the control board; Video . Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts. This video is for demonstration purposes only. This dishwasher may not look exactly like yours, but the procedure is basically the same.

I gave you an example of how to test the buttons by showing how SW1 would be tested. The buttons are counted from left to right. Without pressing the button your meter should read no continuity. When you press the specific button your meter will read continuity. If any buttons fail this test you will need to replace the CONSOLE ASSEMBLY. The console assembly comes in 4 colors so I can't give you a part number without knowing which color you need/want. The part number you gave above is for the BLACK CONSOLE.

If all buttons pass the test check the P1 connector and make sure it is installed securely on the control board. If the connection does not seem to be problematic you will need to replace the control BOARD (part number 8564542).

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram and for parts purchases; Sears Parts Direct .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Thanks again for using Manage My Life.

Q:

Why would my replacement soap dispenser be missing a place to connect the small wires?

A:

I hope you still have the old dispenser assembly available because you were supposed to remove the little rinse aid sensor board from the old dispenser and insert it in the new dispenser. The new dispenser assembly does not come with the rinse aide sensor board.

Once you transfer the rinse aid sensor board you will have a place to connect the small wires. The rinse aide sensor board is just a sensor to let you know when the rinse aid level is empty.
