Dishwasher will Not come On

A:

Hi Lee,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life. I know how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function properly.

You did not mention what light or lights are flashing on the control panel. I am including a portion of the tech sheet that covers this symptom. This will also show you how to check the touchpad.

Please perform the diagnostic tests detailed here and report back with your findings. Be sure to record any failures and when they occur along with any error codes that are displayed. I am looking forward to assisting you again in the near future.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Hi Mark, You are welcome. Glad I could help. You can use dielectric grease (very sparingly); this will help keep corrosion from building up on the contacts. And, I agree prayer always helps. Thanks again for using Manage My Life. Landell

Q:

dishwasher model # 66513109k902 flashing clean lights if shut door very hard light will go out how to troubleshoot

A:

Hi Rauf,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

When the clean LED flashes 7 times this indicates a heating fault. The control is programmed to stop running and not allow any further cycles if it detects a water heating problem (no temperature increase detected in heated wash on 3 consecutive cycles). Control blinks the Clean LED 7 times repeatedly and disables the Start/Resume key until cleared.

Running Diagnostics clears the control and allows it to operate again. The water heating problem must be fixed or the control will stop running again and the clean light will resume flashing.

The most likely things that will cause this are:

  1. Open heating element.
  2. Open connection or component in heater circuit.
  3. Faulty heater drive circuit on control.
  4. Wash pump not pumping water past the heater efficiently.
  5. Door switches not making contact consistently.
Since you mention closing the door really hard affects this, the first thing I recommend is checking the door switches.

The remaining checks will require the use of an ohm/volt meter and you will have to perform ohm checks and/or live voltage checks. If you have a meter and are confident in your ability to safely perform these checks, reply to this post and I will be happy to assist you further.

I hope this is helpful. Check the things I have covered here, and if I may be of further assistance, include more details in a reply to this post.

Q:

Dishwasher will not start until I turn the power off and back on 66513109K902 Kenmore Elite Undercounter dishwasher

A:

Shutting off the breaker resets the electronic control board. That is why it problably starts every time after you shut off the power. Based on your description, the control panel needs to be replaced. There is a possibility that the electronic control board is also defective. I recommend that you replace the control panel first and see if that fixes the problem.

Shut off the power to the dishwasher before accessing internal components and replacing parts.

Remove the screws from the top of the inner door panel to release the control panel.

If you need more help, let us know.
