Q:

No spark on craftsman 650 push mower

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the mower. If you are not getting spark to the spark plug, I recommend checking for spark with a screwdriver. First, insert the screwdriver into the spark plug boot. While holding the handle, position the exposed portion of the shank close to a bare metal surface. Then have a helper pull the starter rope and watch for a spark. If you do not have spark remove the starter housing and remove the kill wire from the ignition coil. Once it is removed do the same check for spark again. If you do not have spark I recommend replacing the ignition coil. If you do have spark I recommend checking for a shorted kill wire from the coil to the engine control.

If you need further assistance on the mower, please reply below with more details.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the seat. If the key will not turn the lock, I suspect the tumbler is rusted. You can try to spray WD-40 into the key hole and try to work it loose. I also find it helpful to push on the seat while turning the key. If the key does turn but not releasing I recommend pulling up on the seat while you have the key turned. I have seen the latch rust and cause the problem you are having. Thank you for using Manage my life. Mark.
